I can’t believe it’s September already, let alone halfway through September; summer really flew by. As August came to an end, I was really quite bummed and didn’t think I was ready for fall to start. Then, the temperatures dropped a little bit and it was out with the sundresses and in with the thermal tee’s and booties. Just like that I’m ready to add some pumpkin spice to my life – anyone else?
Heading into fall I’m craving a bit of a wardrobe update. Velvet seems to be making another comeback this fall and I am on board. These velvet mules are a fun combination of several fall trends and would make a serious statement paired with a simple outfit like jeans and a tee. Speaking of jeans, I’m loving the updated silhouettes such as the cropped flares here. Not all of the new trends in denim are up my alley, but this one seems like a cute style for fall, if I can pull it off with my short legs.
Just like every fall, I always find a few comfy sweaters to add into the rotation. So far, I’ve got my eyes on this Free People one. It certainly isn’t easy trying to find sweaters with non-animal fibers, most have one or several types of wool. I am constantly finding cute sweaters and then am immediately disappointed to find out they aren’t vegan. I’ll be on the search all season long for some cute animal-friendly options so I will keep you updated.
The newly crisp weather also calls for a new vegan bag. A structured silhouette in a fun, fall color like this one is the way to go, I’ve got my eye on the mustard color. My other favorite way to introduce a pop of color into my fall wardrobe is lipstick. I will admit I’m more of a lip balm kind of girl the rest of the year but I love an earthy reddish brown lip for fall.
One non-clothing item I always love for fall is a new mug, or two…or three. My mug collection is an ever-growing bunch of beauties and I couldn’t help adding this and this one to the group this season. There isn’t much I enjoy more than a crisp fall night in with a hot cup of tea, a book, and a candle. Among my other fall favorite activities is baking of course! I am a major sweets girl and I think you get so much more satisfaction from them when you make them yourself. I’m also way less likely to eat the entire dessert in one sitting when I make it myself. I like knowing exactly what I am eating and being able to swap out ingredients as I see fit. Before the summer comes to an official end next week I’m hoping to make one last peach dessert, but this Pumpkin French Toast is next on my list.
There you have it, this is what I’m currently craving for September. I will be welcoming the fall season with open arms.
