So… this post took a little while to get up, but as we all know life gets a little crazy sometimes, so here finally is my Weekend in NYC from a few weeks back. The last weekend in October I drove up to visit my sister in New York to celebrate both of our birthdays and we spent the weekend together in the city. It was definitely the perfect weekend as the weather was beautiful (not too cold but very fall-like) and all the places we went weren’t crowded (a big plus for me!).
Since my sister lives in New York, she always asks me what I want to do and then she figures out how to get us there (it’s a good system). For this trip the only thing I told her was that I wanted to see was pretty leaves. I had been waiting for the leaves in my neighborhood to change and they hadn’t yet so I really wanted to see fall colors. We decided to take the ferry across the river from Staten Island and spend our time walking a path through the trees along the water and end with some Mexican food at El Vez.
We were both pleasantly surprised that we didn’t need to worry about bundling up too much. We both headed out in vegan leather jackets and scarves (find my jacket here for just under $100). It turned out everyone else had the same idea as well as much of the ferry ride was decked out in similar looks. It just really is the perfect fall weekend outfit.
This outfit would also be perfect for anyone traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday – just switch out the heels for some black booties and you’re good to go. It is a very casual and comfy, yet put together look that gives you versatility for traveling in various temperatures.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
